Ceramic artist and illustrator from Menorca, based in Barcelona. Nature and animals inpires me to create a dreamy universe in pastel colours, with imaginary characters, impossible plants and bold textures.
Right after graduating in Fashion Design at IED Madrid, I studied Illustration at Eina, Barcelona. Merging these two disciplines I started working as a textile designer for different fashion brands. At the same time, I started taking artistic ceramic classes with Lusesita.
After seven years of combining these disciplines, I go for ceramics not loosing a strong connection with fashion and especially prints to dress all my characters.
To create pieces I start from my illustrations and use modeling techniques, plates, churros, pinching, palletizing and free sculpture.
The materials I prefer are white stoneware clay, with or without grog. I decorate my pieces with engobes and underglazes. Finally I add some layers of transparent glossy glaze.
Once I have the pieces ready, I linke to get in touch with some art directors and photographers to create editorials, which is a step more in my creative process. That way I can have a little bit of perspective and see how different artist interact with my artwork.
Currently, I work in my studio in Poblenou, Barcelona, where I teach ceramic courses, weekly or monographics. I combine this with illustration projects and the developement of my art pieces.
