Illustration created for MTN Ideas using the new MTN Markers. For the project, I worked directly on paper, using drawing as a way to explore how the color behaves and the possibilities of the markers within my usual visual language.

The illustration is based on some of my recurring characters and forms. I wanted to preserve the spontaneity of drawing by hand and make use of the transparencies and shifts in intensity that appear when working directly with the markers, without aiming for a completely uniform finish.

The process was also a way of becoming familiar with the material as I built the image, testing how the different colors responded and how they could be blended or layered on paper. The photographs document this studio process and the evolution of the illustration through to the final piece.
